Desha Jackson is the Managing Attorney of Desha Jackson Law Group and a distinguished employment, labor, and anti-discrimination law practitioner whose career reflects deep experience in workplace litigation, civil rights compliance, and public-sector governance. Her firm is highly focused on employment, labor, and employee disciplinary matters, and she is widely respected for navigating complex workplace disputes with clarity, precision, and fairness.

Ms. Jackson advises employees, employers, and organizations on discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, severance, workplace investigations, disciplinary proceedings, and policy development. She regularly handles employee disciplinary litigation and labor-related disputes involving public and private sector clients. In addition, she maintains a robust practice in business, entertainment, and sports law, representing athletes, performers, designers, and media professionals in contract and advisory matters.

Ms. Jackson began her employment law practice at Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer as a member of the firm’s Employment Law Team. She later served for many years with the New Jersey Department of Corrections, where she held senior leadership roles including Assistant Director and long-standing ADA Coordinator. In 2016, Ms. Jackson became a legal consultant to the City of Newark’s Public Safety Department, serving as lead hearing officer for disciplinary matters and advising on compliance with a federal consent decree.

Earlier, as Assistant Corporation Counsel in Newark’s Labor and Employment Section, she represented the City in disciplinary hearings, grievance arbitrations, mediations, administrative appeals, and matters before state and federal courts, PERC, and the EEOC, while counseling managers on day-to-day employment and labor issues.

A graduate of Stetson University College of Law, Ms. Jackson has held numerous leadership roles within the New Jersey State Bar Association and national organizations, including President of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association and President of the Association of Black Women Lawyers of New Jersey. Her career has been recognized with numerous professional, civic, and national honors, reflecting both legal excellence and sustained community impact.
