Her experience includes jury and bench trials, arbitrations, and appellate arguments in both state and federal courts including the California Court of Appeals, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in defense of PAGA and wage and hour class action lawsuits. Her expertise in handling cases through verdict provides a broad and practical perspective that helps her clients avoid or minimize expensive litigation through tailored policies and advice.
For her work in employment and business law, Michelle has been consistently recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell – the highest possible designation for legal skills and ethical standards. Michelle’s client base includes staffing companies, technology firms, entertainment companies, restaurants, medical and dental providers, trucking and moving companies, construction companies, manufacturers, architects, attorneys, and non-profit organizations.
Originally from Southern California, Michelle moved to Danville in 1997 and began her solo practice. Today, this practice has grown into the vibrant state-wide firm that is now Ferber Law. Michelle now spends time in both locations and has been able to service the growing needs of her clients throughout the state.
Michelle is a past officer and member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, and was recognized as the 2015 “Board Member Extraordinaire.” Michelle currently serves as a trustee for the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and a volunteer mediator for the Resolve program in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Michelle is also a past President of the Contra Costa County Bar Association Employment Section, former Secretary of the Contra Costa County Bar Association’s Women’s Section, and former volunteer for Contra Costa County Superior Court as a Discovery Facilitator.
Michelle is a 1987 graduate of California State University, Northridge, where she majored in Journalism and wrote for the college newspaper. She received her J.D. in 1990 from Southwestern University School of Law, receiving various awards for excellence in academics and writing. In law school, Michelle served as an extern for the Honorable Arthur Alarcon of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
